I write solarpunk love stories for brighter futures

I write lush romantic stories set in solarpunk realities, both contemporary and fantastical.

My debut novel BRIGHTER THAN THE SUN is coming to you in 2027.

If you’ve ever had an existential crisis about how your job is meaningless and the earth is on fire, but also you want to just have a good time inside a fluffy story, this is for you:

It’s a contemporary solarpunk romance novel where two early-career workplace 🥵nemeses🌶️ must overcome their clashing personalities to pitch their consulting company (ew) as the State of California’s technology partner for the state’s increasingly frequent and fatal wildfires. If Ahana cannot manage her increasing climate anxiety spirals, and if Sam cannot expand his rigid worldviews, the two of them risk losing the $11M contract to a shady competitor who would put millions of Californians’ lives at risk.

What is solarpunk and why should I care?

Stories shape our reality, and therefore, I believe the time for dystopian fiction is over. What we need, more than stories about the end of times, are ones that ask what if we build a world that works for this planet and all its inhabitants?

Stories are a place to explore problems, yes, but also solutions. And these solutions are unforgivably underrepresented in fictional worlds.

As a reader who joins the ranks of ~80% of Gen Z struggling with climate anxiety, I’m done with cars, cops, and consumerism in my fiction—especially in romance novels that are supposed to offer a happy ending.

In short, solarpunk is the antithesis to dystopia. It still acknowledges the grim realities of our future; however, it centers art, nature, and technology working together to propose a vision of the future that’s bright, just, connected, and sustainable. It’s rooted in regeneration and brought to life by bold imagination.
